Position Overview :
As an Occupational Therapy Specialist, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of residents through comprehensive therapy services. You will administer skilled occupational therapy treatments while ensuring the highest standards of care.
Responsibilities :
- Implement skilled occupational therapy treatments as per physician's orders, ensuring ongoing communication with the medical team.
- Document evaluations, progress notes, MDS records, and discharge summaries accurately for individuals in the occupational therapy program.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to address the unique needs of individuals, enhancing their rehabilitation and functional maintenance.
- Provide contributions during Care Planning meetings and represent the Occupational Therapy department in the Director's absence.
- Maintain accurate statistical records of individuals' treatments.
- Assist with in-service training programs upon request.
- Record and update individual care plans to reflect current needs.
- Request necessary supplies for treatment from the Director of Occupational Therapy.
- Assume Director of Occupational Therapy duties during absences, including supervision of COTAs and Occupational Therapy Aides, and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
