Position Overview
The Field Service Technician is a technical customer support role that identifies issues and implements solutions to resolve customer service cases including field-based resolutions on site with customers. This position requires 25-50% travel to customer locations domestically and internationally. When not in the field, the FST will be office-based, managing and resolving cases using CRM (Zoho) and ERP (Epicor) platforms. Strong technical/mechanical background a must. Experience as a general contractor, familiarity with electrical circuits, wiring and diagrams a plus.
Competencies
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice to customer sites.
· Must be able to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
· Service and solution oriented. Represent the company with professionalism including strong communication skills up to executive and owner level customers.
· Must be able to perform, but not limited to skills such as carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical (assist the electrician).
· Required to be familiar with and use all hand and power tools common to the skills listed.
· Must be able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, O.E.M. instructions & specifications.
· Must be comfortable contracting and managing a team of temporary workers.
· Required to use considerable judgment when performing and planning to perform tasks.
· Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
· Effectively coordinate and plan field visits for maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness while minimizing customer disruption.
· Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office suite, CRM, and ERP systems
Other Skills/Abilities
· Knowledge of basic commercial and residential wiring.
· Previous experience in glass handling.
· Previous experience in carpentry, manufacturing, or related field.
· High level of personal integrity.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport.
· Ability to work unsupervised for long periods.
· Customer service skills including navigating upset customer situations over email, phone, and in person.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Operate power tools and precision measuring instruments safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities using Microsoft Office and CMMS.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
