We are currently seeking a Coatings Application Technician.
Job Description:
- Assist in FME of parts for painting, blasting, and/or power tool surface prep.
- Perform power tool surface prep of parts.
- Mix paint and verify proper wet film thickness to meet customer requirements.
- Apply SL-1 and non SL-1 coatings to customer parts.
- Maintain stock of supplies and request restock when needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional workspace.
- Maintain hand tools and equipment in order to keep them in safe and usable condition.
- Process of paperwork/procedures required for tasks.
Requirements:
- Must have high school degree or equivalent.
- Must have 3 years’ experience applying coatings with both cup type air guns and pressure pot sprayers.
- Must be able to maintain and repair coating application equipment.
- Must be able to pass an applicator test involving application of coatings in 2-7 mil layers on various shapes and at various angles.
- Must be familiar with wet film and dry film testing methods.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with applying Nuclear Grade Service Level 1 Coatings a plus.
- Must by physically able to safely operate equipment, able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and capable of standing/stooping/kneeling for long periods of time.
- We are a service industry on call to our customers 24/7/365. To meet our customer's needs, employees must be able to work overtime as needed, including extended hours outside of assigned shift. This also includes weekends/holidays.
NOTE: This position requires drug and background screening as well as maintaining respirator clearance.
