EPE is looking to recruit an Associate Technical Director with a background in Interconnection or Transmission Planning studies, preferably in the ISO New England and NYISO territories in the Northeast. In this role, you will work closely with senior leadership to support our growth strategy and provide subject matter expertise both internally through coaching and developing staff as well as externally to our clients.
How you can make an impact :
- Troubleshoot and advise internal / external stakeholders on complex interconnection studies including load flow, short circuit, and transient stability across multiple ISOs and Utilities in the Eastern Interconnect.
- Possess strong collaboration skills, ability to pull together diverse teams across the organization to provide the best experience for the client.
- Review ISO and / or Utility interconnection study results, replicate findings, and identify errors or alternative mitigations that could impact assigned network upgrades and project success.
- Support generation, large load, and merchant transmission developers navigate interconnection processes with a focus on ISO New England and NYISO but broadly across all of the Eastern Interconnect.
- Work with senior leadership to develop new tools and services.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on interconnection-related studies and stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Be passionate about solving difficult technical problems, providing innovative solutions, and taking ownership of the solutions provided.
- Develop net new and enhance existing relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, industry organizations, and regulatory agencies.
- Support responses to RFPs, DOE grants, and development of Scopes of Work.
- Participate and coordinate industry involvement through conferences, speaking opportunities, technical paper submissions, etc.
- Deep expertise in NYISO or ISO New England would be preferred but knowledge of any other regions in the Eastern Interconnect would be valuable.
