To execute our strategy, we are looking to strengthen our organization with a Director of Sales, Commercial Vehicle & Power Generation.
Key Responsibilities
The Director of Sales, Commercial Vehicle & Power Generation will report to the Vice President of Sales in our MRG offices in the Norwood, MA location. The Manager plans, prioritizes, and directs the activities of the assigned sales team to develop and market ECI products and services to maximize profit and growth opportunities.
In this role, you will:
- Direct and prioritize the activities of the Account Managers and Inside Sales to achieve increased profitability and growth meeting and exceeding targets in the business plan.
- Investigate, evaluate and monitor the company’s share position and the market. Initiate or recommend actions to maximize market share and achieve the Category Authority position.
- Interact at a senior level with customers with purchasing, engineering and other decision makers for growth.
- Work closely with ECI’s sister companies and Engineering group to identify new opportunities, drive innovation and grow ECI’s enterprise portfolio of products and solutions.
- Drive a customer focus within the organization and a culture of customer intimacy with customer-facing teams. Develop an annual sales plan for the group and achieve or exceed the sales and profit targets. Prepare regular forecast updates as required.
- Negotiate favorable major business agreements and long-term contracts.
- Planning and execution of Revenue Budget for Commercial Vehicle and Power Generation
- Prepare annual group budget and monitor adherence to the approved budget.
- Initiate actions to strategically grow BU and execute company initiatives.
- Coordinate Sales activities to enhance profitability through various methodologies such as strategic pricing, change management, collection of obsolescence costs, terms compliance and cost reductions.
- Participate in the development of the strategic plan.
- Leadership and talent development of the sales team assigned.
- Develop the professional skills of the Sales Group.
- Evaluate sales team assigned to develop talent and succession planning to build a team with “A” players only at each level.
- Other duties as assigned by the VP of Sales
- All other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business from a four-year accredited university
- Evidence of on-going educational/skill development
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated strong leadership, managerial and businesses technical knowledge and skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interface with internal and external customers
- Demonstrated ability in “value added” selling
- Minimum 5 years directing sales of technical products
- Ability to communicate in English; Spanish is a plus
- Displays independent judgment and initiative
- Willingness to travel to customers and manufacturing locations
- Ability to work effectively with agility in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of data driven decision making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong ability to research
- Experience within manufacturing industry preferred.
- Business acumen with a solution-oriented approach.
- Must have an extremely proactive approach and take strong initiative and ownership
