Key Responsibilities
The Manager of Talent Management will report to the HR Director in the Southfield, MI location. The Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and retaining high-performing employees. They will partner with many departments to improve employee experience, boost productivity, and retain top talent.
In this role, they will:
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including creative sourcing and pipelining to attract, hire, and promote top talent
- Develop and implement comprehensive onboarding plans to ensure a smooth transition for new employees
- Support talent management strategies, policies, and programs that align with business goals and support talent acquisition, retention, and development objectives
- May research and assist in the development of training programs that focus on enabling the workforce to achieve improvements for priority organizational concerns, identifying and developing talent gaps, and enhancing the capabilities of the workforce
- Cultivate a positive work environment and oversee the employee performance management process, which may include setting goals, performing evaluations, providing individual feedback, and coaching as needed
- Support in the design, development and implementation of the talent review process that seeks to achieve business goals and create an internal bench of top talent
- Manage recruiting, performance, talent, and training management systems
- Develop all job descriptions inclusive of physical requirements, standards of performance, required competencies and maintain their compliance
- All other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field
- 3-5 years of broad HR experience; talent and performance management a plus
- 10 years of full life cycle sourcing and recruiting experience inclusive of expertise in hiring of all functions and leadership within a global and/or manufacturing environment
- Exposure to the design, development, and support of talent management programs, including performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning a plus
- Proficient in capturing HR metrics, recruiting KPIs and producing employment reports
- Expertise in sourcing strategies, including Boolean searches, social media, networking, employee referrals, job postings, university relations, and employment branding
- Skilled in configuring, managing, and maintaining applicant tracking systems Experience gathering data and reporting for affirmative action plans
- Interest in developing processes and procedures for talent functions across the organization
- Experience creating effective onboarding, co-op, and mentorship programs
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of OFCCP compliance and affirmative action, applicant tracking requirements and EEO compliance
- Strong ability to effectively collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with ability to make ethical and effective decisions
- Knowledge of data driven decision making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong research capabilities
- Experience within the manufacturing industry preferred
- Business acumen with a solution-oriented approach
- Must have an extremely proactive approach and take strong initiative and ownership
