Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a drafter/designer. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical and physical drafting and design work for electrical substations and renewable energy projects ranging from 4 kV to 500 kV.
The successful candidate will perform drafting in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation related to electrical substations and renewable energy facilities. Controls design will involve preparation of drawings to include mapping layouts, general arrangements, and one-line, three-line, DC schematics, wiring diagrams and such like.

The successful candidate will perform drafting in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation related to electrical substations and renewable energy facilities. Controls design will involve preparation of drawings to include mapping layouts, general arrangements, and one-line, three-line, DC schematics, wiring diagrams and such like.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
PV and BESS Drafter/Designer:
- Preparing complete drawings of utility scale BESS or PV layouts, facilities or general arrangements including section and detail views and profiles in a manner to provide clear and concise representation of facilities.
- Preparing electrical single lines, aux power, SCADA wiring drawings.
- Preparation of project drawings through preliminary selection of alternatives, layouts and arrangements.
- Preparation of BOMs and using excel tools to quantify lengths, parts and pieces, etc
- Demonstrating personal development of technical knowledge through interface with the engineering departments in the execution and review of project assignments.
- Assisting in the training and advancement of skills for other, less -experienced designing and drafting department personnel.
- Preparing complete drawings of structures, layouts, facilities or general arrangements including section and detail views and profiles in a manner to provide clear and concise representation of facilities.
- Preparing electrical single lines, AC & DC schematics and wiring drawings.
- Preparation of project drawings through preliminary selection of alternatives, layouts and arrangements.
- Demonstrating personal development of technical knowledge through interface with the engineering departments in the execution and review of project assignments.
- Assisting in the training and advancement of skills for other, less -experienced designing and drafting department personnel.
