EECO Mod Center Technician
Electrical Equipment Company (EECO), a full-line wholesale electrical distributor with expertise in industrial automation, provides a combination of capabilities including onsite assessments, performance evaluations, data-driven recommendations, repair options, and supply chain optimization. We are expanding our existing services and building out new capabilities. We are currently looking for a technician to work in our Mod Center to perform enclosure modifications and perform cable terminations. The ideal candidate for this role will be based in Central Virginia.
Position Summary
The Mod Center Technician, located in Richmond, VA, will be trained to operate our Steinhauer Mod Center. They will utilize their new skills to perform cutouts and modifications to enclosures to support our industrial and OEM customers. Additionally, we will be adding custom cable production services this year. This position will report to the Delivered Services Manager and will support all EECO locations.
Responsibilities include:
- Operate the Steinhauer Mod Center machine to perform modifications on electrical enclosures.
- Set up and calibrate the machine according to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the Steinhauer Mod Center machine.
- Interpret CAD files and electrical schematics to ensure accuracy.
- Quality Control, inspect finished goods for precision and quality.
- Perform cable terminations with Lugs, ensuring all connections are secure and meet quality standards.
- Follow safety protocols, conduct daily safety checks, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- 3 years experience with automated machine operation.
- Proficiency in wire and lug terminations on cables.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in reading CAD files and electrical schematics, and using hand tools and measuring devices.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs. safely
