Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations on-site and provides support for all phases of construction projects including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety. Working with subcontractors and internal project management, the assistant superintendent ensures that project specifications are strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule, within budget, and in adherence to project standards, contract specifications, and local codes
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support and track area schedules, including 2-week and 6-week look-ahead schedules.
- Assist in coordinating construction sequences between trades and communicating directives.
- Help organize and attend weekly supervisor meetings and daily production huddles.
- Promote and reinforce safety culture under the guidance of project leadership.
- Assist in verifying installations aligned with approved shop drawings and contract details.
- Support the implementation of the QA/QC program.
- Participate in weekly subcontractor meetings, assist in preparing agendas, minutes, and look-ahead schedules.
- Monitor subcontractors' compliance with contracted scopes of work under supervision.
- Assist in scheduling inspections with local authorities.
- Help coordinate and schedule subcontractor activities while noting safety and quality compliance issues.
- Identify potential construction conflicts and escalate them to the project team for resolution.
- Maintain daily logs of on-site activities.
- Assist in conducting QA/QC inspections and ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations.
- Represent the company professionally in meetings and field communications.
- Complies with established company work rules, policies, and procedures.
- Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles, or responsibilities, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Min. 5 years of Experience in Construction field work as an assistant superintendent or Superintendent
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering is preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Procore.
- Process/continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work and interact with all levels of an organization.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, strong attention to detail.
- Candidates should be self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
- Ability to work in a safe manner within the aviation environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, sitting, climbing stairs, standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work at a desk on a computer.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at times.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to operate and work in weather conditions such as heat, humidity, cold.
- Occasional exposure to fumes, dust, chemicals.
- Exposure to loud sounds and vibrations associated with construction.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually commensurate with experience.
