Role Summary
Electrify America owns and operates North America’s largest open ultrafast EV charging network, with over 800 stations and 3500 chargers across the continent.Supporting this vast network of charging equipment is our proprietary ‘Nucleus’ cloud backend, including charge point operator (CPO), e-mobility service provider (MSP), and iOS and Android mobile app functionalities.The Product Owner role sits on the Product team within Electrify America’s Technology organization.This individual’s core responsibilities are to help develop and capture functional and technical requirements to support ongoing software development enhancements.
The Product Owner role is highly cross-functional and will work closely with business stakeholders (Product Managers, Sales leads, Customer Service and Network Operations Center leads, etc.) to understand and refine business requirements.After capturing customer requirements, the individual will work with the software development team (developers, scrum masters) to translate product requirements into technical requirements and prepare all documentation to support efficient and comprehensive software development.This will include developing Epics and stories in our project management tool Jira, and comprehensive documentation in our knowledge management tool Confluence.Finally, the Product Owner will help to prioritize stories in the product backlog for development in upcoming sprints.

Role Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Product Manager to identify and define business needs and opportunities for improvement
- Performs investigative work to determine business requirements
- Consults with subject matter experts, technical experts, end users and other stakeholders to gather information about functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, interfaces with other systems, etc.
- Progressively elaborates the stated requirements to sufficient level of detail that accurately define the business need within the specified solution scope and provide clear implementation approach to developer team. Validates that requirements meet the business need.
- Establishes epics and writes user stories to capture all required work elements for the scrum team
- Defines acceptance criteria for all user stories
- Serves as liaison and resource to project managers, developers, and other project team members throughout each phase of the process to help clarify and/or resolve issues related to requirement, design, testing and acceptance specifications.
- Uses data from analytics and user feedback to help determine what enhancements should be brought to the product
- Collaborates with Product Manager, Development Manager, and Development team on product backlog prioritization and sprint planning
- Collaborates with the Product Manager to ensure that the product backlog is aligned with the product roadmap and provide status updates on roadmap progres s
5-8 years of relevant experience
Education (Required)
- An associate degree in a technical field or product management or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Agile and/or Product certificates
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
- Ability to analyze and develop business and technical requirements.

- Analytical thinking and problem solving
- Being detail-oriented and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Proven experience in writing user stories and epics
- Proven experience in eliciting requirements
- Proven experience in bringing stories to refinement meetings with developers
- Proven experience in product backlog prioritizing
- Proven experience in planning and prioritizing work in sprints with the development teams
- Proven experience working as a Product Owner in Agile software development environment
- Experience in writing SQL queries
- Understanding of networks, databases and other technology
- Understanding of how to analyze behavioral data to make product decisions
- Flexible location - either Remote or Hybrid (northern VA)
