Non-Exempt position
Job Location: On-site, Emmaus, PA
Job Type: Full Time
Responsible to clean, carbon or stainless-steel surfaces by forcefully projecting a stream of abrasive material (like slag or grit) onto the surface, removing contaminants like rust, paint, or scale with specialized equipment to prepare it for further processing or finishing; and maintain blasting equipment while adhering to safety protocols to achieve the desired surface finish.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform blasting work by reading traveler instructions and following the supervisor’s schedule
- Abrasive blasts parts as necessary
- Ensure visual and profile acceptance for quality assurance
- Apply primer coat according to procedures to ensure optimal adhesion
- Serve as a safety watch to other blast operators
- Maintain a clean and safe working area
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- In any environment, always follow safety standards and wear proper protective gear
- Perform other tasks or additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s license
- Basic mathematic skills
- Good communication skills
- Good cooperative skills; ability to work in a team environment
- Must be able to travel and work overtime when required
Physical Requirements:
- Work in confined spaces.
- Occasional repetitive movement of fingers, hands, and wrist.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, stand and sit various times throughout the time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to use respiratory protection when required.
