Position Summary:
The Equipment Support Technician II is responsible for shipping (packaging and loading) and receiving (unpacking and unloading) equipment from or to customers, carriers, vendors or other Electro Rent offices. Performs visual quality inspections prior to receiving, stocking or shipping equipment and goods. Performs function tests and software loads. Maintains documentation and system information related to all incoming, stocking and outgoing transactions to ensure proper asset control.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for proper handling, receiving, shipping and stocking of equipment according to Company policies and procedures.
- Enters all incoming, outgoing and stocking transactions into the Company's data base (PERFECT) and maintains associated documentation.
- Performs quality assurance checks, function tests and software loads based on Company standards.
- Verifies proper accessories are received, stored and shipped for all transactions.
- Visually inspects equipment for damage and cleanliness and corrects as directed.
- Ensures equipment is routed as required by type of transaction and product segment.
- May be required to deliver and pick up equipment at the customer's site or be a part of an event work group setting up equipment for exhibitions and trade shows.
- Performs special inventory projects and performs other tasks when required. May help maintain delivery vehicles in safe and clean operating condition.
- Performs other related duties as assigned, in accordance with business needs and organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Good written and oral communication skills are necessary.
- May require a good driving record and insurability under the company's liability insurance.
- Requires good basic data entry skills, PC literacy preferred.
- Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to work multiple tasks as assigned.
- Ability to perform the required physical elements of the job (listed below).
- Must be able to access, input and retrieve data from Company database.
- Knowledge of data products hardware and operation.
Experience & Education
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent knowledge and certification
- One (1) year experience with shipping and receiving process and data base management
ITAR Requirements
Due to possible access to product/s or technology that may be controlled by the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other U.S. federal export regulations, a successful candidate for this position will be a “U.S. Person” as defined under 22 CFR § 120.15.

Physical Requirements
- All positions will require, to some degree, the physical abilities described below to perform the essential functions of the job
- Work the expected hours, consistently arrive at work at the agreed time and follow Company rules and guidelines regarding breaks and meal periods. Full time is typically considered to be 40 hours per week
- Communicate effectively both orally as well as written
- Move around work area, may include climbing ladders or stairs
- Ability to lift 40 pounds of equipment or boxes above the head, alone, or with help lift 150 pounds
