What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Manager position at Electrocraft?
The Engineering Manager independently provides technical leadership, direction and support to Manufacturing and Design in the areas of product development, industry standards, methods, tooling, equipment, plant layout, process improvements and automation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Functional
- Establish and maintain optimum production methods, standards, tooling and equipment for all products under assigned area.
- Responsible for all aspects of assigned manufacturing processes to demonstrate complete "Process Ownership" which includes :
- Documentation and Technical floor support to meet quality and productivity standards.
- Equipment set-up and operation.
- Hardware operation and maintenance.
- Maintain and Analyze process data to ensure process control.
- Identify and implement methods, process and equipment improvements.
- Coordinate the design and introduction of new products and engineering changes.
- Coordinate special projects as assigned.
- Project Management : Managing projects proficiently, efficiently, and with full accountability for project results. Ensuring that all constituent partners and associates for successful project implementation are managed and coordinated to completion of project goals.
- Process Improvement : Identifying core value-adding processes and maximizing their performance and productivity. Integrating and streamlining processes throughout the supply chain and ensuring adoption of the best maximum efficiency.
- Works when expected and contributes best efforts towards the timely completion of work assignments.
- Design mechanical components / tooling / fixturing as required.

Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS : B. S. Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related technical field with knowledge in the application of basic engineering principles, theories, and techniques. Equivalent experience will be considered.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
5 to 10 years' experience in Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering with increasing levels of responsibility preferably in an electrical assembly and test environment with knowledge of the latest motor and gearbox manufacturing processes and process improvement techniques. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as be proficient in Microsoft applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to lift and manipulate 65 pounds occasionally with assistance.
