The Job: Manufacturing and assembly of medical devices (needle electrodes) used in the diagnosis of neurological and neuromuscular diseases and conditions. This position is posted as entry-level, meaning we will consider anyone who has an interest in and aptitude for this type of work, even if you have no manufacturing experience. If hired, we will train you.
Candidates who do have related manufacturing or assembly work will also be considered (potentially at higher rates of pay than those posted).
This position is full-time, 8 hours per day for a 40-hour work week (6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., M-F). On occasion, there may be voluntary overtime work. If approved, overtime may be utilized during the work week and some Saturday mornings.
This job is ideal for local individuals who want to stay close to home and avoid the hassle of long and stressful commutes. Once you are trained, we allow the use of ear buds/headphones to help get you through your workday.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and package medical needle electrodes in a clean-room setting.
- Follow standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Use pneumatic tooling and equipment.
- Operate other equipment (e.g., bagger) or perform other tasks as needed.
- Record key information on work order documents.
- Wear required clean-room assembly clothing, hair-net, gloves, shoe covers, gown, and wrist guards.
- Perform quality control steps.
- Report to the Production Supervisor
Qualifications (must have the following characteristics or abilities):
- Read, write, count, and follow written instructions.
- Do repetitive assembly of small metal and plastic components.
- Be trained in and operate light manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Attention to detail.*
- Patience and listening during long periods of one-on-one training.
- Reliable, accountable, and have adequate means of transportation to get to work.
- Cooperative, flexible, and open-minded for changes or improvements to policies, procedures, or work instructions.
- Work in a team setting.
- Good communication.
- Be able to sit for 90% of the day; the other 10% may be spent moving/lifting materials (including occasional moderately-heavy lifting) or standing.
- Basic math skills.
- The ability to remain quiet most of the time, for your own focus and focus of your coworkers.
- A positive, and friendly attitude is a must, and a sense of humor is always welcomed.
