Job Summary:

The OD/ID and Surface Grinder is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating both manual and CNC grinding machines. This role is crucial in maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring the accuracy and precision of critical components.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Set up and operate OD/ID and surface grinding machines to grind parts to specified tolerances.

· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to ensure precision in grinding operations.

· Inspect and measure parts during the grinding process to ensure adherence to specifications.

· Monitor and maintain the condition of grinding machines and tools to ensure optimal performance.

· Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on grinding equipment as needed.

· Maintain clean and organized work areas.

· Collaborate with team members to improve processes and achieve production goals.

· Ensure that all work is completed according to established safety protocols and quality standards.

Required Skills and Abilities

· Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

· Strong knowledge of grinding machines, tools, and techniques.

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

· Proficient in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in grinding operations is a plus.

· Proven experience as an OD/ID Grinder or in a similar machining role.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

· Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
