Electromagnetic Sensor Technologies was established in 2011 as the US subsidiary of Nanowave Technologies. Areas of focus for EMST include fabless MMIC design and high-power hybrid solutions for the radar, space, aerospace, defense, and ISM instrumentation markets.
Job Description
As a full-time member of EMST’s Active Component Design Engineering team, the RF engineer will:
- Conduct specification analysis, design, layout, measurement, and documentation of advanced, high performance broadband MMIC and hybrid microwave components
- Provide support for technical proposals, product troubleshooting, literature surveys, and obsolescence mitigation
Primary responsibilities of the RF engineer will be:
- Detailed analysis of subsystem specifications
- RF component and subsystem design, analysis, and test to meet agreed specifications
- Interpretation, evaluation, and visualization of simulated and measured data
- Documentation of design performance, test plans, measured results, and lessons learned
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics from an accredited university
- (PhD preferred)
- Academic thesis must be related to high-frequency active circuit design, simulation, & test
- 3 years of high-frequency circuit design and hands-on measurement experience in industry
Technical Proficiency
- Highly proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) software and active and/or passive high-frequency circuit simulation software
- Strong EM simulation skills using EDA tools such as ADS and HFSS
- Deep understanding of electromagnetic theory, amplifier architectures, RF performance metrics, and GaAs & GaN device behavior
- Demonstrated success in designing high-frequency components or related subsystems, especially broadband, high power, high efficiency front-end components for radar and communication applications
Attention to Detail
- Candidate must be focused on key design details because minor design errors can have very significant negative impact on the performance of products that we manufacture
- Candidate must exhibit a strong personal commitment to maintaining high professional standards of accuracy and quality

- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement solutions within strict mission deadlines

Status
- Legally permitted to work in the United States
- Authorized to work with export-controlled items (ITAR)
- Willing to obtain a US security clearance (existing security clearance preferred)
Location
- Atlanta, Georgia, USA
- Flexibility for partial remote work (based on program needs and managerial approval)
- Occasional travel to Canada and Europe is required
