The Opportunity:
The Director, Market Access & Payor Contracting is responsible for building and leading Electromed’s market access function. This position demands a high-impact individual who can work cross-functionally with our growth, operations, and commercial teams, and possess deep expertise in the payor environment, particularly within the medical device industry. You will build an informed strategy around payors, DMEs, and geographical markets and act as the face of the company to payors and the subject matter expert (SME) on reimbursement across teams. The Director, Market Access & Payor Contracting will play a crucial role in our DME approach as we aim to further understand the landscape and our expansion across key markets.
Job Outcomes You Must Get:
- Building and lead Electromed’s market access function
- Possess deep expertise in the payor environment, particularly within the medical device industry
- The ability to build an informed strategy around payors, DMEs, and geographical markets
- Additionally, you will act as the face of the company to payors as well as the subject matter expert (SME) on reimbursement across teams
- You will play a crucial role in our DME approach as we aim to further understand the landscape and our expansion across key markets
- Develop and implement market access strategies for Smartvest®, including creating a value proposition and clinical evidence portfolio to showcase product benefits
- Design and execute a short, mid, and long-term coding and reimbursement strategy to support business growth
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, policymakers, and payor representatives
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards for product access and market entry
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and internal teams to manage approval processes and stay updated on regulatory changes
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to understand industry trends, payor requirements, and competitive dynamics
- Oversee pricing strategies and negotiate reimbursement rates to ensure favorable terms for Electromed
- Partner with growth, operations, and commercial teams to ensure alignment of market access strategies with overall business goals
- Track the effectiveness of strategies and provide regular updates to the executive team on performance and progress
- Secure advocacy and support from key stakeholders, including medical and trade associations and government bodies
Job Outcomes Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in market access, reimbursement, or a related field, with significant experience in the medical device industry
- Proven ability to build and lead market access strategies
- Experience working with clinical research teams
- Experience working with a drug or device that is not, or was not previously, widely adopted
- Knowledge of payor dynamics, pricing strategies, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a track record of successful stakeholder engagement
- Strong analytical skills and experience in market research and data analysis
- Strong customer orientation; a passion for patients and caregiver community
- Thrive on collaboration and ability to influence in a cross functional environment.
