We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Sales to lead our 14-person inside sales team in our Cleveland, Ohio office, located in our parent company Electronic Merchant Systems’ beautiful office in Tower City. This in-person leadership role is critical to driving team performance, coaching high-level sales techniques, and fostering a positive company culture.
Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, the Director of Sales will oversee daily operations, ensure administrative efficiency, and maintain a high standard of accountability and discipline within the team. This office will continue to grow and we need a strong leader at the helm.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Directly oversee and manage a team of 14 inside sales representatives.
- Set and enforce performance expectations, ensuring individual and team sales goals are met or exceeded.
- Implement coaching strategies to enhance sales techniques, productivity, and team morale.
- Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings to provide feedback and guidance.
- Handle disciplinary actions when necessary while maintaining a positive team environment.
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and refine sales strategies to drive revenue growth and customer acquisition.
- Monitor key performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to improve sales outcomes.
- Collaborate with the VP of Sales to develop sales plans, forecasts, and initiatives.
Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales reports and documentation.
- Analyze sales trends, pipeline data, and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with senior leadership to provide insights on team performance and market trends.
Company Culture & Engagement
- Organize periodic team-building and company culture activities to foster a positive work environment.
- Motivate and inspire the sales team to maintain high engagement and retention.
- Uphold company values and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5 years of sales leadership experience, preferably in an inside sales environment.
- Proven track record of managing successful sales teams and exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong ability to coach, mentor, and develop sales talent.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with administrative and operational tasks.
