Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer to successfully migrate from Okta to Microsoft Entra ID. The Engineer must be able to identity management principles, have expertise in both Okta and Azure AD/Entra ID administration, have a strong understanding of application integration methods like SAML and OIDC, have proficiency in user provisioning and synchronization, knowledge of conditional access policies, and the ability to manage complex data mapping between the two platforms, ideally with experience in scripting or automation tools to streamline the process.
Responsibilities
Okta Administration:
- Deep understanding of Okta user management, application integration, sign-on policies, provisioning rules, and API access
Azure AD/Entra ID Administration:
- Expertise in managing users, applications, groups, conditional access policies, multi-factor authentication, and synchronization within Microsoft Entra ID.
Application Integration:
- Ability to configure and migrate applications from Okta to Azure AD, including mapping SAML attributes and understanding different authentication protocols.
User Provisioning:
- Knowledge of how to set up and manage user synchronization between Okta and Azure AD using tools like Microsoft Entra Connect.
Data Mapping:
- Understanding how to map user attributes and group memberships between Okta and Azure AD to ensure data consistency during migration.
Conditional Access Policies:
- Experience in creating and migrating access control policies from Okta to Azure AD based on user location, device, and other factors.
Scripting and Automation:
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) to automate repetitive tasks during migration.
