What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder 1st shift position at Electronic Theatre Controls?
ETC is searching for a new Welder II to join our team in our Mazomanie office! Our ideal candidate will have a technical diploma in welding, great mechanical aptitude, knowledge of structural welding techniques, and the ability to work independently and in a team.
This role is responsible for welding our live event rigging hoists that utilize stick and flux core welding processes, so knowledge and experience with these are preferred.

Representative Responsibilities :
- Fabricates, welds, grinds, cuts, and erects structural metal frames to standards and specifications
- Operates cranes to move structural frames and other materials around the shop
- Fabricates product by cutting and welding metals
- Ensures parts are fabricated to print specifications
- Maintains expected productivity output levels and completes assignments as scheduled
- Ensures quality meets standards by checking measurement and parts are welded to meet the correct orientation
- Selects the appropriate welding application and performs visual quality checks to ensure welding reflects correct penetration
- Follows ISO procedures
Minimum Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Formal one year technical diploma in welding or equivalent work experience
- 3 years production welding experience, structural welding experience preferred
- Proven competency to be able to be certified in :
- AWS D1.1 3G SMAW Certification
- AWS D1.1 1G FCAW Certification
- AWS D1.1-08 GMAW Certification
- Knowledge of metalwork theory
- Knowledge of various welding techniques (TIG, MIG, Stick, Flux Core) and able to adjust equipment to its proper setting
- Able to lift, carry, push and or pull up to 50 lbs. frequently
