The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, monthly variance analysis, operation analytics, and providing financial insights to help drive key business decisions for the appliance company. This role will work closely with other teams within the organization, including finance, accounting, sales, marketing and operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Other responsibilities include:

Budgeting and Forecasting (30%)

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support budgeting and forecasting activities. 
  • Meet with budget owners to provide guidance on budget and forecast preparation and ensure adherence to budget and forecast guidelines and timelines. 
  • Analyze financial results against budgets and forecasts and identify areas for improvement and cost saving opportunities. 
  • Conduct regular reviews of budgets and forecasts to ensure they are aligned with business objectives and market trends. 
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the budgeting and forecasting process to increase accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with business goals and objectives. 

Financial Analysis and Reporting (30%)

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and trend analysis. 
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Update and prepare monthly reporting package for executive leadership 
  • Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls. 
  • Create and manage weekly dashboard reporting
  • Leading and assisting project teams with financial guidance, projections, and modeling.
  • Assist with pricing and cash flow forecast 
  • Performing ad hoc financial analysis as needed. 

Operations (20%)

  • Work closely with sales, logistics, and supply chain 
  • Provide analytics around freight and warehousing costs
  • Create and manage inventory reporting to ensure sufficient inventory levels 

Accounting and Compliance (20%)

  • Work closely with appliance finance manager and accounting team on month-end close processes, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. 
  • Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field 
  • 5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights. 
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial modeling 
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Proven leadership skills to independently conduct and recommend valuable financial analysis. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Initiative to gain insights and implement process improvements and efficiencies where needed
