We are searching for an Environmental Technician for our Adamstown, PA office. Project types include assisting with hazardous materials Investigations, abatement contractor oversight & air monitoring, Indoor Air Quality/Indoor Environmental Quality Testing, Mold sampling, drinking water sampling and report preparation. The essential duties and responsibilities of the Environmental Field Technician will include:
• Performs a wide variety of tasks associated with indoor environmental hazards such as asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, etc.
• Oversees hazardous materials remediation contractors performing remedial activities
• Excellent attitude toward personal safety, process safety, and environmental compliance
• Other duties as required by the position
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or another related major, or non-degreed individual with experience in the environmental field
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Self-sufficiency, capable of working independently, hard working
· Proficient in the use of a PC, specifically Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
· Position may require working on ladders, frequent pushing/pulling/carrying of equipment/objects/debris of varying and often awkward sizes/shapes/weights including bending, lifting, moving pumps and generators.
· May occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift 20-30 pounds.
· Periodic/frequent work with hazardous substances while utilizing designated personal protective equipment.
· Occasional overnight stays may be required, in addition, some 2nd or 3rd shift work may be required
· Pennsylvania School District Clearances – have or able to obtain Federal Criminal History, PA Department of Human Services Child Abuse and PA State Police Criminal Record clearances for working in Pennsylvania School Districts
· Ability to obtain, and keep in good standing, a valid driver’s license and ability to drive to job
