Overview
Element has an opportunity for a new Assistant Accountant to join our growing Global Business Services team based in Edinburgh. Supporting across our expanding GL team, this is a fantastic opportunity to embark on and develop your Accountancy career within our marketing leading, global TIC business.
This role would be perfect for an ambitious, highly motivated professional keen to embark on a fulfilling career in accounting, with the commitment of study support.
Responsibilities
•Month-end management accounts support
• Support with month end closeReview and posting of accruals & prepayments• Review month end reconciliations (incl Net Sales)• Capital projects approval tracking and expenditure reporting• Provide support to, GL Accountant, Senior Management Accountant and Finance Manager, as required• Provide monthly reporting and analysis to Sector businesses and labs as required• Provide KPI monitoring and reporting for the Reporting team• Support of internal / external audit processes & ensure an effective control environment• Ad hoc duties as and when required to support ESS finance applications and initiatives
Skills / Qualifications
- Degree or studying towards professional qualification in accounting desirable
- Good systems and accounting experience preferred
- D365 experience desirable (although training will be provided)
- Teamwork and effective communication within a team
- Self-starter, works own initiative and proactive
- Self-confident in their own ability and in their accounting knowledge
- Attention to detail especially regarding GL transactions
- Positive, can-do attitude
