Test Engineer

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Test Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision.  The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Salary: $60,000 - $90,000 DOE 

Responsibilities

• Ability to work on well-defined issues, standard and/or routine tests, with limited supervision in accordance with approved procedures, methods, customer specifications and standards
• Adapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisor
• Under the close guidance of advanced Engineers in the laboratory, work on well delineated technical issues including standard and routine analysis
• Define work experience that has impact on the day to day technical decisions made on timely delivery of laboratory testing services and customer support
• Strong technical knowledge
• Able to demonstrate the ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to help examine issues and build solutions

Skills / Qualifications

• Working knowledge of laboratory safety
• Possess a recognized scientific, technical or engineering qualification to a degree level
• Preferred significant field experience leading to comparable engineering knowledge, competencies and skill
• A Bachelors of Science degree in a science or testing related field
• In-depth understanding of testing concepts
• Ability to analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed
• Possess strong computer skills
• Basic Mathematical Skills. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus

Physical Demands:

• Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate)
• Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 50 lbs periodically
