Test Technician

Element is currently seeking a Full-Time Test Technician for their Materials & Analytical Lab in Warren, Ohio. There has never been a more exciting time to be part of an automotive electronics technology company.

The Test Technician will be responsible for performing various tests on automotive components and operating lab-scale plastic processing equipment and material evaluations using benchtop thermal analysis equipment.

Responsibilities

Test Technician - Materials & Analytical Lab Responsibilities:

• Perform root cause analysis on failed test samples and components returned from field failures including warranty, prototypes, etc.• Operate laboratory equipment and instruments.• Operate plastic injection mold machine and twin screw extruder.• Coordinate outside services: calibrations, maintenance, etc.• Acquire knowledge and proficiency in the use of general and specialized laboratory techniques, equipment, and instrumentation.• Prepare/dissect test samples.• Prepare test reports and analytical presentations.

Skills / Qualifications

Test Technician - Materials & Analytical Lab Qualifications:

• Must have 1-3 years of testing or laboratory experience.• Minimum of a two-year associate degree in an engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience (Mechanical, Metallurgy, Materials).• Understanding of material properties.• Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks - make intelligent, timely decisions, and solve problems independently.• Effectively works with others.• Good knowledge of MS Office.• Good oral and written communication skills.• Must be willing to work 40-45 hours per week.
