Position Overview
As a Cloud Solutions Architect at Element, you’ll play an important role in the design and implementation of resilient, secure, scalable, and cost-effect solutions leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Compute cloud. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, to understand business requirements and to provide architectural oversight and guidance throughout the software lifecycle. You’ll be part of a team of digital service experts helping the US federal government modernize and streamline federal digital infrastructure and services.
\n- Collaborate closely with development teams and business stakeholders to understand their business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Design, architect, and implement cloud-native architectures using cloud services, while adhering to federal agency security and compliance standards.
- Develop technical documents, and solution diagrams to communicate proposed solution options effectively to client stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with the latest services, features, and best practices of the cloud platformProvide technical support and guidance to resolve complex issues related to AWS cloud infrastructure and security.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years experience working as a solutions or cloud architect or similar role with a focus on Amazon, Microsoft or Google platforms.
- Understanding of and experience with cloud-native architecture using cloud native services such as Amazon’s EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and others.
- Experience using architectural frameworks like the Amazon well architected framework to evaluate and improve cloud architectures.
- Experience developing and presenting technical diagrams and presentations.
- The ability to effectively communicate technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences both verbally and in writing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative environment.
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
- Must reside in the Continental US.
- Depending on government agency, specific requirements may include public trust background check or security clearance.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools like CDK or terraform is a plus.
- Experience with containerization technology (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus In depth understanding of federal security and compliance requirements is highly desirable.
