The Sr. Product Manager will report to the Director, Product Development and is responsible for the assigned product lines for Element Appliances and Tytus Grills in the United States. The Sr. Product Development Manager will be responsible for product strategy development, enhancements of existing products, and identification of new products. The Sr. Product Development Manager will interface closely with foreign / domestic suppliers / partners, component and software partners, and factory engineer teams to develop and maintain new and existing products to increase revenue, profit and market share. To be successful in this role, the Sr. Product Development Manager needs to have a very good understanding of product sourcing, identifying market trends, competitive forces, new technologies and working with key functional stakeholders, both internally and externally. Other responsibilities include :
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT - 80%
- Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with factories and manufacturing.
- Assist with building business cases for new product offerings.
- Support Director of Product Development with the 3-year product roadmap in collaboration with the Executive and Engineer team.
- Assess market competition by comparing the company's product portfolio to competitor's product portfolio. Be an expert with respect to the market and competition.
- Determine customer's needs and desires by specifying the research needed for market information.
- Work closely with Management and Finance to establish and achieve revenue and margin targets by assigned product, category, and customer segments.
- Obtain product market intelligence by working with internal teams to develop product roadmap strategies.
- Assist with Factory onboarding.
- Meet regularly with part suppliers.
- Extract new value from factory / part suppliers to drive sales and profit.
- Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples.
- Turn ideas into action by creating plans utilizing market insights to ensure competitive offerings.
- Participate in internal / external meetings agenda's, preparation and follow up to ensure actions are implemented.
- Take the lead in determining product specifications; provide thoughtful leadership for development of sourcing, packaging, and graphics to creative services.
- Continually ensure information flow of new ideas, supplier offerings and trends in the market
- Use competitive pricing data for ecommerce and retail environments to ensure quality and pricing are competitive.
- Assist with operations, Design Team and Factory to modify Products and Packaging as needed.
- Work cooperatively with purchasing, program management and sourcing to manage supplier relationships; ensure on-time program delivery with products that fulfill the Product Requirements Document
- Work with various Supply Chain resources to achieve goals in demand planning, inventory, and customer service.
- Have working knowledge of the supplier network to the level of specific capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
- Resolve all product, pre- and post-production issues in collaboration with engineers and manufacturing partners.
- Present new technologies to customers at meetings and trade shows.
- Provide training and mentorship of Product Development Manager or other junior associates.
