Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our finance team as an entry-level accounts payable clerk. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling statements, and assisting with various accounts payable tasks. Responsibilities:
- Process invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
- Verify accuracy of invoices, including pricing, quantities, and terms.
- Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process payments to vendors, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized vendor files.
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior experience in accounts payable or general accounting preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
