Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of equipment including lift trucks, reach trucks, and pallet jacks to maintain a safe and efficient warehouse environment. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, good communication skills, and a strong commitment to safety.
Duties
- Safely operate a range of warehouse equipment, including lift trucks, reach trucks, and pallet jacks, to move goods around the warehouse.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and repaired as needed, with the assistance of the Warehouse Supervisor where necessary.
- Load and unload pallets and products from trailers using a forklift or pallet jack.
- Operate a warehouse management system to track inventory and manage warehouse operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to safety standards and warehouse policies.
- Lift heavy objects, using proper lifting techniques to avoid injury.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to meet productivity and quality standards.
- Perform order picking and packing tasks as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols when operating equipment or performing tasks.
Skills
- Experience operating a forklift or other warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and their application.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform heavy lifting tasks.
- Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity and quality standards.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment and understanding of warehouse operations.
- Ability to operate a reach truck, order picker, and hi-lo truck.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
