What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Chemical Batch Maker position at Element2 Group?
Key Responsibilities:
- Batch Production: Supervise and ensure the preparation and mixing of chemicals according to standardized recipes and procedures. Ensure all batches are produced to the highest quality and specifications.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor a team of chemical batch makers, providing guidance on operational processes, safety, and quality control standards.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to ensure adherence to company quality standards. Implement corrective actions as necessary to resolve quality issues.
- Process Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve batch-making processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production timelines.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and environmental standards. Conduct regular safety checks and training sessions for the team.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of batch production, including raw materials, quantities, production timelines, and any deviations from the standard process.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any production issues or equipment malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Quality Control, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless production flow and inventory management.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, efficiency, and safety.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of chemical batch-making processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues and resolve problems effectively.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control procedures in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work in varying conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) as required by production processes.
