Product Development Lead

SUMMARY:
Responsible for collaborating with Sales, Operations, and Pre-Production teams to enhance processes for new product implementation. Utilizes engineering and problem-solving skills to optimize process windows during APQP stages.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assess customer needs, refine project requirements, and ensure design solutions meet expectations.
• Support engineering and sales teams with technical expertise.
• Evaluate incoming orders for feasibility and recommend optimal solutions.
• Collaborate across departments for technical communications, proposals, and product demonstrations.
• Develop cost models and respond to RFQs.
• Analyze design feasibility and costs.
• Ensure efficient production methods for new product launches.
• Conduct material testing and controlled experiments.
• Manage design projects through key phases: Input, Output, Verification, and Validation.
• Submit bills of materials and engineering change notices.
• Test and implement alternative products per quality standards.
• Lead process improvements and lean initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Prepare reports and collaborate with manufacturing to resolve product issues.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with Automotive, Aerospace, and Industrial Quality Standards.
• Experience with Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing.
• Strong project management, organization, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of urethane products is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SAP and CAD experience is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
