What You Get To Do:

The Associate Production Supervisor supports the Manufacturing efforts in coordinating activities and priorities of the production team in either the material prep, daily assembly, or machine work centers. The Associate Production Supervisor is responsible for the management, coordination, and evaluation of work center functions to include custom manufacturing.

This position supports supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's culture, policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assigning, evaluating, and managing work; motivating, recognizing, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems in their area. They will also assist the Production Manager in hiring, interviewing, and completing performance reviews of team members. Additionally, this position is responsible for the inspection of in-process raw materials and finished goods and suggests process improvement based on the standards established by the Quality team.

• Effectively coordinate and lead the manufacturing operations of customized LED components and/or systems
  • Ensures the workforce is following established procedures and work instructions
  • Removes bottlenecks in day-to-day operations with viable solutions
  • Qualitatively monitors workforce productivity
• Trains, evaluates, develops, coaches, and leads staff

  • Evaluates human capital and material resource requirements and provide recommendations and enhancements as needed or required
  • Serves as a positive role model for department personnel in all aspects of conduct
  • Maintains a strong floor presence and leads by example  
• Coordinates efforts with the Production Leadership, assisting with establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing customized products
  • Meets or exceeds planned production goals by utilizing production schedules and establishing priorities of the department 
  • Create reports and provides feedback on the productivity of the team and the status of project schedules
  • Provides input on productivity improvements and ensures that production schedules are met
• Ensures that product quality is met within the department in accordance with quality control and product development standards
  • Evaluates the in-process raw material and finished goods for conformity to established standards and specifications
  • Monitors product standards and is involved in discussing quality control programs for custom projects
  • Reports the progress of the manufacturing team towards established quality goals and suggests improvements based on the data
• Collaborates with cross-functional departments to identify project milestones and critical areas of concern to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled in relation to quality and delivery
  • Creates positive working relationships and involves others in working collectively toward the achievement of departmental and company goals
  • Communicates effectively on the status of needed parts or anticipated future needs that are required to produce upcoming products to appropriate departments
• Promotes company goals, policies, processes, practices, and documentation for all customized products
  • Detects, corrects, and reports, as necessary, any unsafe work practices or acts of unsafe violations of company rules and procedures
  • Monitors production processes and adjusts schedules as needed
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices
  • Observes and corrects workers to ensure:
    • Compliance with company standards
    • Achievement of performance expectations by all direct reports
• Demonstrates dependability through commitment, consistency, and attendance
  • On occasion, modifies typical workday to commit to work a portion of the second shift to provide consistency amongst both shifts
    

We are looking for someone with:

• Minimum of two (2) year of production/process manufacturing management·
• Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience, desired
• Ability to learn extensive product line of Elemental LED, including but not limited to basic product understanding, quotations, project layout, technical aspects, troubleshooting, low voltage installations, power supplies, lighting terminology, photometry, and applications
• Modern MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
• MS Office (Word, Excel), FedEx, UPS, and USPS software systems; Fishbowl Inventory 
• Principles and practices of continuous improvement, ISO regulations a plus
• Ability to train, develop, evaluate, motivate, and coach direct reports
• Ability to manage, organize, and prioritize multiple projects and tasks in an effective and timely manner; organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines using effective management techniques
• Ability to demonstrate positive leadership through effective communication, both written and verbal, to all levels within the organization
• Ability to establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and other design documents
• Ability to demonstrate a high accuracy in work and attention to detail
• Ability to interpret, apply, explain, make sound, independent decisions, and ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and technical written material
• Ability to use and train others on safe and effective use of equipment, i.e., power drills, saws, soldering iron, heat gun, electrical meters, various electrical tools, etc.
