What You Get To Do:
Serving under Production leadership, the Senior Assembly Technician provides hands-on technical expertise and knowledge, training, and troubleshooting of electrical and linear lighting configurations to properly assemble and manufacture samples of linear lighting applications. Must have extensive knowledge of the company’s product, including, but not limited to, project layout, technical aspects, and troubleshooting. The Senior Assembly Technician will possess a proven track record of producing high-quality products, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in building samples for our customers.
Challenge Yourself – The Specifics:
- Performs variety of electronic and electromechanical assembly tasks
- Assembles, tests, and modifies prototypes or custom electronic parts and systems, including soldering wires
- Works from schematics, oral instructions, and existing documentation
- Follows established procedures and guidelines to check, test, and inspect finished goods before they are shipped from the distribution center to the customer
- Compares the physical characteristics of products to technical specifications to identify defects; ensuring that the color of wires on the harnesses are recognized in order to solder to proper pads
- Ensures compliance with all safety regulations
- Conducts tests on electrical function, reliability, and packaging quality and record results and prepare technical reports
- Safely and effectively use and operate hand tools such as a soldering iron, heat gun, powered wire stripping machines, powered saws, and other equipment required for the work
- Work with low voltage and 120VAC electricity
- Detect and correct quality problems found during the manufacturing process
- Organize, stock and issue supplies and equipment
- Organize and prioritize a variety of tasks in an effective and timely manner; organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines
- Use tact, initiative, prudence and independent judgment within general policy, procedural and legal guidelines
- Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with Elemental LED team members
- Follow procedures for maintaining manufacturing systems and databases
You Have a Unique Combination of Skills, Talents and Mindset, Including Many of the Following:
- High school diploma/GED, or equivalent experience and training are typically required
- Two years technical degree or accelerated technical program or equivalent experience/knowledge preferred
- Minimum of 3 years working in a manufacturing/distribution environment, quality assurance, assembly, testing, or experience working in an environment using hands tools and equipment
- Excellent listening and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must have excellent attention to detail, be driven, work well independently, and have a knack for problem solving
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic machinery or equipment, preferred
