JOB DESCRIPTION:
Long Term Special Education Substitute Teacher position available immediately. The successful candidate for this position will possess a valid and active Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Special Education. Emergency Certification will also be considered. The professional candidate selected for this assignment understands and agrees that they may be required to teach in a blended/online format and/or travel between two elementary schools as requested by administration. Travel will be reimbursed. Teaching experience is preferred. Experience and working knowledge of effective instructional practices, including direct instruction teaching replacement skills to mastery is preferred. Teaching experience with elementary students is highly desirable. Responsibilities / Skills of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Strong Interpersonal / Collaborative/Organizational Skills
- Knowledge of various disabilities impacting student progress in the general education curriculum (reading/writing/math/Social and Emotional/Executive Functioning)
- Ability to provide intensive instruction, collect progress monitoring data
- Experience with the Completion of Special Education paperwork is not required but preferred
