What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educational Aide position at Elementary School?
The Nixon-Smiley C.I.S.D. has an opening for a full-time Educational Aide (Teacher Aide). The teacher aide shall work one on one with students and shall assist teacher in the preparation and management of classroom activities and the completion of administrative requirements. Assignments to additional or specific duties may occur as necessary and are assigned by the Principal.
Requirements:
- Complete the EPI assessment (Required after completing the application for employment).
- Pass an educational aide assessment (locally administrated).
- Become certified as an Educational Aide by the State Board of Educator Certification.
Application Procedure:
1. Complete the Web-based electronic application.
2. Provide a certified copy of college transcript OR high school diploma.
3. If available provide/upload a copy of a valid Educational Aide Certificate.
4. Provide proof of Identity (Driver's Lic., SS card, Birth Certificate, Passport, or other government documents.)
5. If required, you must submit to and pass a biometric (fingerprint-based) background check.
Included in the electronic application:
- A notice to comply with the requirement to a Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) review via the "DPS FACT" database (included during the enrollment process) per Texas Government Code Sec. 411.097.
- An "Affidavit of Applicant Offered Employment" (included in the application process) must be completed and notarized before a candidate is offered a professional position at N-S CISD. A notary public is available in the Human Resources office for candidates who are recommended for employment. This pre-employment requirement complies with TEC 21.009 and local policy.
