What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Assistant Principal position at Elementary School?
Rochester Academy Charter School is seeking a Elementary School Assistant Principal for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. This is a 12 month position located at our building on 310 Hinchey Road, in Rochester, NY.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Work collaboratively with a team that includes the Principal and the grades 3-5 Assistant Principal
- Instructional leadership for grades K-2
- Management of the RTI team, including reviewing student data
- Support teachers who are developing their practice
- Conduct observations and walkthrough visits and return feedback in a timely manner
- Support the Student management team- from discipline to restorative practice as a means to help students to achieve academic and social-emotional success
- Lead the intervention team for behavioral and discipline related concerns in assigned grade levels
- Communicate effectively with parents using a team approach to student support
- Process student discipline according to the Code of Conduct
- Communicate with the facilities, food service and transportation teams to assure efficient facilities management.
- Approach each day with positivity and excitement
The ideal candidate has the following:
- Master's Degree
- Minimum 3 yrs teaching experience
- SBL and/or SBL Leadership Certification or eligibility for a Certificate of Internship
