Position Overview
Uwharrie Charter Academy is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Elementary Technology Specials Teacher to lead engaging and developmentally appropriate technology instruction for students in grades K–5. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, creativity, and digital literacy while integrating core academic connections in a fun and interactive specials class format.

Essential Responsibilities

Design and deliver weekly technology lessons for elementary students that promote foundational computer skills, digital citizenship, keyboarding, coding, and multimedia creation.

Utilize platforms such as Google Workspace and other age-appropriate tools to build student engagement and skills.

Collaborate with grade-level teams to integrate technology with classroom instruction when appropriate.

Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that reflects UCA’s core values.

Maintain classroom routines, student behavior expectations, and a safe learning environment.

Teach students how to safely and responsibly use technology and navigate digital environments.

Maintain equipment and report any technical issues or instructional technology needs.

Attend school meetings, professional development sessions, teacher duties and school events as required.

Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field.

Experience teaching or facilitating technology instruction in an elementary setting.

Familiarity with digital learning platforms (Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc.).

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Passion for working with young learners and supporting their growth as digital citizens.
