About the job
Reminiscent of a European market, our flagship Elephants Delicatessen at NW 22nd has served decades of Portlanders. A top destination for locals and food-loving tourists, it features deli cases, a dessert bar, baked goods, coffee, cocktails, a grill and oven, pizza, wine, cheese and charcuterie, gifts, specialty grocery items, and more. This spot hops during lunch and on busy weekends!
We are looking for an energetic team player to serve menu items from the hot food line and prepare pizza in our wood-fired oven. Personal motivation and teamwork are imperative. This position requires exemplary hospitality and active customer service, knowledge of specialty and high-end products, and efficient workflow. As you grow in your role, you could learn how to make sandwiches, and other grill menu items to order.
Our ideal candidate will have a year of cooking experience, strong organizational and knife skills, and will be self-motivated! As this is an open kitchen, the applicant must enjoy and be consistently oriented toward customer service and be self-aware during all interactions!
A food handler's card is required for this position.
