Eleve Dance Center in Tooele, Utah, is looking for highly professional and experienced dance instructors to join our vibrant team! We are seeking substitute teachers who can step in on short notice.
Job Overview
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles, particularly tumbling, turns & leaps, hip hop, acro, and ballet, with experience working with competition teams, performance teams, and recreational students. This role involves not only teaching dance classes but also fostering a love for movement, creativity, and technical excellence in students of all ages. Instructors at Eleve Dance Center play a key role in developing well-rounded dancers, whether they are beginners or competitive athletes.
Schedule:
Mondays: 6-9 PM
Tuesdays: 6-9 PM
Wednesdays: 2:15-7:00 PM
Thursdays: 4-9 PM
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, structured, and age-appropriate dance lessons tailored to different skill levels and goals.
Teach competitive-level dance, with a focus on tumbling, turns & leaps, hip hop, and acro, while incorporating ballet fundamentals when needed.
Foster a supportive and professional learning environment where students feel motivated to grow in their technique and artistry.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help dancers refine their skills.
Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and injury prevention.
Collaborate with fellow instructors to develop special events, performances, and showcases for students.
Communicate effectively with parents and students regarding progress, expectations, and opportunities for growth.
Skills & Qualifications:
Highly professional and reliable with a strong work ethic.
Proficient in competitive dance styles, including tumbling, turns & leaps, hip hop, and acro, with a solid foundation in ballet.
Experience working with competition/performance teams and recreational dancers of various ages.
Background in early childhood education or working with young dancers is a plus.
Strong ability to engage both young children and adult learners, tailoring instruction to suit their needs.
Knowledge of childhood development principles and dance pedagogy.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) for positive interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
A creative mindset with the ability to integrate theater elements into dance instruction.
