Job Description :
Location : Candidates must reside within a 50-mile or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location. The first 90 days will be 5 days in the office, with a possible hybrid schedule after 90 days.
The Collections Specialist is responsible for collection activities related to outstanding / past-due health insurance claims.
How You Will Make an Impact
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to :
- Follows established guidelines, contacts group for the purpose of collecting payments for outstanding / past due health insurance claims.
- Research validity of outstanding balances and takes proper steps to resolve unpaid claims.
- Obtains payment status and information for additional research.
- Prepares reports reflecting status of credit and collection activities for management review.
Minimum Requirements :
Requires a H.S. diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of prior commercial debt collection experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
