Responsible for responding to customer questions via telephone and written correspondence regarding insurance benefits, provider contracts, eligibility and claims.


Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Proficient in all basic customer service areas performs some but not all types of moderately complex function.
  • Must be able to successfully perform all the duties of the Customer Care Rep I.
  • Analyzes problems and provides information/solutions.
  • Operates a PC/image station to obtain and extract information, documents information, activities and changes in the database.
  • Thoroughly documents inquiry outcomes for accurate tracking and analysis.
  • Develops and maintains positive customer relations and coordinates with various functions within the company to ensure customer requests and questions are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Researches and analyzes data to address operational challenges and customer service issues. Provides external and internal customers with requested information.
  • Proficient in all basic customer service functions.
  • Receives and places follow-up telephone calls / e-mails to answer customer questions.
  • Inquiries may also be on a walk-in basis.
  • May require deviation from standard practices and procedures with the assistance of a computerized system.
  • Seeks, understands and responds to the needs and expectations of internal and external
  • Outbound calls made to complete Health Risk Assessments.
  • Receives, classifies, reconciles, consolidates and summarizes documents and information; processes and codes documents.
  • Makes and receives phone calls to exchange information to accomplish tasks. Sets up and maintains records, logs and files.
  • Compiles regular and special reports using established formats and procedures.
  • Contacts customers, suppliers or company associates to exchange information.
  • Operates, cleans and maintains various types of equipment for purposes of filming claims, correspondence and other related documents.
  • Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail.
  • Develops and makes copies of original film.
  • Verifies unrecognized characters and flags quality issues as they arise.
  • Completes and maintains production logs.
  • Conduct outbound calls made to complete Health Risk Assessments.


Requirements:

  • Required to meet department goals and expectations.
  • Requires a HS diploma or equivalent;1-3 years of the company's experience in an automated customer service environment; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) or multi-language skills required.
  • Must be able to pass a validated language assessment/test.
  • Candidates must be bilingual (English and fluent in Spanish) and have the ability to interview in both English and Spanish.
  • Must have basic knowledge of use of web-based applications, MS outlook, MS word and excel.
  • outbound calls made to complete Health Risk Assessments.

Additional Details:

  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30AM to 5:00 PM
  • Hybrid
  • The candidate will have hybrid work schedule, splitting time between the office and home.
  • Candidates are required to be in the office at least 2-3 per week, depending on workload training completion, productivity and performance.
  • Available to travel to work on short notice and or on fixed days.
  • This role requires to work from office 5 days a week.


Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy. Unless specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, contractors are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process. Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.
