What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Clerk position at Elevance Health?
Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The Ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.
The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for maintaining patient files, responds to requests for medical records and performs clerical activities in support of the medical records department.

How You Will Make An Impact
- Protect the security and integrity of medical records to ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained in compliance with company policies and federal, state and local regulations.
- Maintains patient files and retrieves files for scheduled appointments.
- Responds to requests for medical records.
- Processes letters and report.
- Communicating/ Collaborating with various departments regarding medical records and findings if identified.
- Requires a HS Diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
- Medical records experience, preferred.
- Billing experience, preferred.
