General Purpose of the Job:
The Airline Ground Operations Agent plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient turnaround of aircraft. This position includes loading and unloading baggage, freight, and cargo, operating ground support equipment, marshalling aircraft on the ramp, and performing various tasks necessary to prepare planes for flight. The role also involves performing ground operations such as aircraft cleaning, security screening, operations support, and commissary duties. This is a part-time position, servicing contracted air carriers for both scheduled and charter services.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

Aircraft Ground Handling:
- Load and unload baggage, freight, and cargo of various weights and dimensions to/from aircraft
- Operate ground support equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and aircraft tow tractors
- Marshal aircraft to and from parking positions on the ramp safely and efficiently
- Ensure safe handling of aircraft cargo, ensuring that all baggage and cargo is loaded and secured in compliance with FAA regulations

Ground Support Operations:
- Assist with fueling operations, ensuring aircraft fueling is done safely and accurately
- Perform basic aircraft cleaning duties, including cabin cleaning and trash removal, between flights
- Assist in ramp and gate operations, such as pushing back aircraft from the gate and preparing the aircraft for departure
- Follow standard operating procedures for ground handling, ensuring compliance with TSA, FAA, and airport regulations

Customer Service & Safety:
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting passengers with special needs, including helping with boarding or deplaning assistance
- Ensure proper safety measures and security protocols are followed in designated safety-sensitive zones
- Maintain clear communication with flight crews, ground operations, and ramp teams to ensure timely departures

Other Duties:
- Monitor weather and environmental conditions to assess operational impact
- Maintain a clean and organized work area on the ramp and in other ground operations areas
- Perform other assigned tasks as required to support the ground operations team
- Ensure that all ramp equipment is properly maintained and report any issues to the Ground Operations Supervisor

- Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage and cargo (up to 70 lbs)
- Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and lifting in confined spaces such as cargo holds and aircraft baggage bins
- Ability to push and pull heavy equipment and baggage carts
- Work in extreme weather conditions, including high heat, cold, and wind
- Ability to work on a ramp that may involve navigating around moving aircraft and other ground support vehicles
- Must have sufficient hearing and vision to ensure safety during ground operations

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to read and write English
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of general office equipment
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to qualify for operating all aircraft ground support equipment (training provided)
- Ability to push/pull/lift, unload and maneuver heavy luggage and/or equipment (up to 70 lbs) for extended periods
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including extreme weather conditions
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. under the Immigration Act of 1986
- Must pass a background check and meet TSA security clearance requirements
- Must possess a valid drivers license
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
