About the Opportunity
Elevate Charter Schools (ECS) seeks an experienced, proactive, and highly organized Executive Assistant to provide strategic and high-level administrative support to the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team.
This is an integral role in supporting Elevate’s organizational goals as we expand and strengthen our reach and impact across the state. In this role you will work closely with key leaders to ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day functions, manage critical projects, and assist in the execution of strategic initiatives that drive Elevate's vision forward.
As the Executive Assistant, you will be a trusted partner to the leadership team, acting as a critical point of support between executives, departments, and external stakeholders. You will be expected to manage complex and confidential matters with discretion, anticipate needs, and streamline processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. In this fast-paced, high-growth environment, your ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate across multiple projects will be key to supporting Elevate’s continued success and impact.
The Executive Assistant will provide high-level administrative and strategic support to the executive leadership team, with a primary focus on supporting the CEO. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and proactive individual who can handle complex tasks, manage confidential information, and maintain effective communication across all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner, ensuring the executive's day-to-day operations run smoothly while anticipating their needs and priorities.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
As our new Executive Assistant, you will be primarily responsible for:
- Calendar Management: Oversee and optimize the C-Level calendars, ensuring that time is allocated effectively to support the organization’s strategic goals, balancing internal and external commitments. Prioritize meetings, calls, and appointments to maximize productivity.
- Communication: Prepare and review written communication (emails, memos, presentations, and reports) on behalf of the CEO and executive leaders, ensuring clarity and professionalism. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications on behalf of the leadership team.
- Confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, maintaining a high level of professionalism and trust.
- Logistics: Coordinate travel, meetings, and events for the CEO and other executive leaders, ensuring all details are managed with precision.
Project Management & Strategic Support
Project Oversight: Track and support strategic initiatives, including cross-departmental projects, partnerships, and key performance indicators. Collaborate with teams to ensure progress and deadlines are met.
Special Projects: Take ownership of special projects, providing logistical and strategic support as needed. This may include researching best practices, compiling data, and assisting in the preparation of presentations for key stakeholders.
Board & Executive Meetings: Assist in the preparation and execution of board meetings, executive meetings, and industry events. Take detailed notes, track follow-up action items, and ensure timely completion.
Organizational Support & Office Management
Office Coordination: Ensure the executive office is organized and efficient, including managing office supplies, equipment, and other administrative needs for the leadership team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate with other teams across Elevate to ensure smooth communication and coordination. Maintain systems for tracking organizational priorities, ensuring that key milestones are consistently met.
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate
Education & Experience
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting senior executives, preferably in fast-paced or high-growth organizations.
Proven success in managing multiple priorities in dynamic, fast-paced, and mission-driven environments.
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional Organizational Skills: Ability to juggle competing priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
Advanced Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; adept at drafting professional documents and engaging with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen eye for detail, organization, and a focus on achieving excellent results. Experience with project management tools (Asana, Trello, etc.) is a plus.
Technology Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with other productivity tools. Experience with project management software or CRM systems is a plus.

Additional RequirementsAbility to work outside regular office hours as needed to support executive schedules, meetings, and deadlines.
Willingness to travel between Elevate campuses in New Haven, Hamden and Danbury, as necessary. (with potential for additional travel to future school sites as well).
Compensation and Benefits
At Elevate Charter Schools, we are committed to ensuring fair and equitable compensation based on the skills, experience, and qualifications required for the role. The salary range for the Executive Assistant position is $65,000 to $80,000 reflective of the responsibilities and expertise needed to succeed in this role.

Location and Travel
This position is based in New Haven, CT, and will be a hybrid role. The Executive Assistant will be expected to work at least 3-4 days in-person (office and/or school site) and 1-2 days remote per week, with the remote days to be determined by the Executive Leadership Team. Regular travel to Elevate’s other campuses and potential future school sites will be required, particularly as the organization expands to new locations. As such, candidates must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation to travel between locations as needed.
