Elevate Dance Academy is a dance studio in Dakota Dunes, SD. Our goal is to give dancers a positive and encouraging learning environment for them to flourish in the art of dance.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dance Instructor to join our team. As a Dance Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and guiding students of various ages and skill levels in the art of dance. This is a paid position that offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young dancers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement dance lesson plans based on the needs and abilities of students
- Teach dance techniques, choreography, and routines in various styles such as ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, pre school classes, breaking, and musical theatre.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students to help them improve their skills
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity and self-expression
- Manage classroom dynamics and ensure discipline and respect among students
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to plan performances, recitals, and showcases
- Stay updated on current trends and developments in the field of dance education
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children or students in a teaching or mentoring capacity
- Strong knowledge of dance techniques, terminology, and styles
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with students and parents/guardians
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Experience in curriculum development is preferred
We offer competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications. This is a part-time position with flexible hours in the evenings Monday-Thursday.
