Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AV Technician to lead the integration and upgrade of boardroom AV systems. This role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining advanced conferencing solutions, including Microsoft Teams Room appliances, video matrix switching, USB switching solutions, and audio system integration. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AV control systems, video conferencing platforms, and structured cable management.
Key Responsibilities:
System Installation & Integration
- Integrate a client-provided PC into the boardroom AV system, enabling users to join Microsoft Teams as a second participant and access other conferencing applications.
- Install and configure a new Teams Room Appliance to support a second attendee camera feed and serve as a backup for the primary OFE Teams appliance.
- Implement USB switching solutions to allow seamless use of two existing cameras and microphones with multiple devices, including:
- OFE Teams appliance
- New rack PC
- Backup Teams appliance
Video & Audio System Upgrades
- Replace existing splitters and switches with a single matrix video switch to:
- Reduce failure points
- Expand system capabilities
- Configure the video matrix system to allow six inputs (table inputs, Teams appliances, PC) to display on six outputs (main TV, secondary TV, computer monitors, Teams input).
- Ensure the existing audio system is integrated into the upgraded AV infrastructure for optimal performance.
Rack & Cable Management
- Improve rack accessibility by installing wheels and coordinating with client to modify the wood cabinet floor.
- Remove outdated equipment from the rack to streamline system performance.
- Redo all wire management, including:
- Labeling and securing cables
- Eliminating intermittent connectivity issues
Control System Programming & User Interface (UI) Design
- Reprogram the existing control processor and touch panel to create a more streamlined and user-friendly interface.
- Provide client with the source code and UI design for future reference.
- Implement up to three UI revisions within the first year based on client's feedback.
- Develop a one-page user guide for in-room reference.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: 5 years in AV integration, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Technical Skills:
- AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX)
- Video matrix switching and USB switching solutions
- Microsoft Teams Room appliance setup and troubleshooting
- Audio system integration and DSP configuration (Biamp, QSC, BSS)
