As Community Loan Portfolio Manager, you will leverage your expertise in loan underwriting, portfolio management, and community engagement to help further Elevate Health’s mission of building resilience and equity. From managing the $8M Community Resilience Fund, to fostering key partnerships, and ensuring compliance with regulations, you will play a crucial role in advancing the fund’s strategy and impact. Reporting to the Senior Director of Community Resilience, you will work closely with our finance team and external partners to ensure the fund’s success and alignment with Elevate Health’s goals.


Here’s what you’ll be doing:


Manage Community Loans

  • Loan Underwriting
    • Serve as first point of contact for new borrowers.
    • Conduct credit and social impact analysis for borrowers.
    • Provide technical assistance and organizational guidance.
    • Prepare credit and recommendation memos for Program Loan Committee review.
    • Draft and gather necessary loan documents (Loan Agreement, Promissory Note).
  • Loan Management
    • Act as primary contact for existing and prospective borrowers.
    • Coordinate meetings with borrowers alongside the finance team.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for funders and stakeholders.
    • Manage loan servicing and modifications.
  • Portfolio Management
    • Conduct quarterly loan portfolio reviews.
    • Calculate and discuss loan loss reserves.
    • Track and monitor loan portfolio performance.
    • Implement and maintain loan servicing software.


Loan Compliance

  • Ensure program compliance with investment policies and state/federal lending regulations.
  • Collaborate with Elevate Health staff and finance team to maintain compliance.

 

Support Program Loan Committee

  • Help lead the Program Loan Committee, ensuring informed decision-making based on members' expertise.
  • Support members of the Program Loan Committee to create agendas, supporting materials, and scheduling.
  • Help coordinate communications and alignment between Program Loan Committee and Elevate Health’s Board.
  • Ensure compliance of the Program Loan Committee with existing fund policies and procedures, including member composition, skillset and terms.

Partnership Development and community engagement

  • Identify and support partnerships with co-investors, stakeholders, and organizations to expand program reach and impact.
  • Support alignment of community engagement efforts to promote equity in Pierce County.
  • Increase visibility and awareness of loan investments and promote their impact.
  • Assist with reports, evaluation, and promotion of community loans.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Assist Senior Director of Community Resilience with Program management.
  • Act as backup for the Senior Director of Community Resilience when needed.


Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, community development, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years’ experience in community development, impact investing, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of community engagement, financial operations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities or in a community-based, nonprofit, or social impact environment. 
  • Strong collaborative skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated passion for community-driven solutions and equity-focused initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

   Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, community development, or a related field.
  • Experience managing community loan or impact investment funds.
  • Familiarity with state and federal lending regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with or experience working in Pierce County
