Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Help with mobility and transfers using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to the supervising nurse or caregiver.
- Support clients in engaging in community activities and social interactions to promote their independence.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care, retirement homes, nursing homes, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and first aid practices is advantageous.
- Familiarity with care systems and lifting techniques is beneficial for ensuring client safety.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
