EHC is currently looking for a Senior Accountant for a client in the NW Houston, TX area.
Job Summary :
The Client is seeking a skilled, hands-on Senior Accountant to join their Accounting and Finance team and lend their expertise to support through the next phase of its growth. This position will report to the senior accounting Manager and is expected to work with minimum supervision to become the financial and accounting expert in his / her responsible functions. This person requires acute attention to detail, sensitivity to meeting deadlines advanced critical thinking skills, and a commitment to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Heavily involved in the month-end close process with the preparation of recurring / ad-hoc journal entries, balance sheet adjustments, allocations, and reversals
- Upload and consolidate financials and prepare supplemental reporting packages
- Review work papers and / or journal entries prepared by staff accountants
- Support subsidiaries on accounting matters, including, but not limited to, month-end close activities, developing SOX controls, and integration into the parent Company
- Reconcile and monitor high-risk liability, intercompany, and accrual accounts
- Manage the Blackline account reconciliation application by ensuring the accurate loading of monthly trial balances and assigning all accounts monthly
- Manage the wing-to-wing account reconciliation process, including tracking, publishing, and distributing daily metrics throughout the reconciliation periods
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors and stakeholders to ensure timely fulfillment of auditors’ data requests
- Conduct variance analysis / commentary on financial statements and financial presentations
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment
- Other assignments / responsibilities as assigned
