Position Summary
We are seeking a Pilates Instructor / Body Movement Specialist with a background in Pilates, physical therapy, kinesiology, exercise science, or a related field. In this role, you will lead sessions ranging from private 1-on-1 trainings to group classes of up to 10 participants on our state-of-the-art Reformer machines. Candidates should have a foundational understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics, along with a passion for helping clients achieve their fitness goals in a safe, supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead Pilates Sessions: Instruct both private and group classes (up to 10 clients) focusing on correct technique, safety, and client progression.
- Customized Workout Plans: Assess individual client needs, modifications, and fitness goals to tailor workouts accordingly.
- Client Engagement: Maintain a motivating and positive atmosphere, ensuring clients receive personalized feedback and support.
- Equipment Management: Set up, break down, and sanitize equipment before and after classes; report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Continued Education: Stay up-to-date with current fitness research, best practices, and industry standards.
- Certification Commitment: If not already Pilates-certified, actively pursue certification within an agreed-upon timeframe, with support from Elevate Flow.
- Studio Collaboration: Coordinate with management on scheduling, client retention strategies, and promotional events that encourage client engagement and community building.
Qualifications
- Educational/Professional Background:
- Previous experience in Pilates instruction OR
- Degree or coursework in physical therapy, kinesiology, exercise science, or a related field.
- Fitness Knowledge: Strong understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and injury prevention.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal skills for guiding and motivating clients of diverse fitness levels.
- Certification:
- Current Pilates certification (highly preferred) OR
- Willingness to obtain a recognized Pilates certification within a specified timeline (studio support may be available).
- Interpersonal Qualities: Friendly, patient, energetic, and dedicated to client success.
- Availability: Flexibility to teach weekday, weekend, and possibly early-morning or evening classes.
